12:15 p.m. - 2003-08-14 Wasnt it spring, like, a week ago? Wasnt I all excited about warm weather and camping trips and days out to the amusement park? Wasnt I dreading shorts and tank tops? Where did it all go? And where the hell was I when it went? I think I was at work. This whole working for a living thing really isnt agreeing with me. Sure, its nice to have money and a place to live and cash for the important things in life but at what cost, really? Where is the time to do any of the summer crap that we all love and expect? Where are the beer-commercial-parties and cottage weekends? I am Canadian, aren't I? Aren't I supposed to be having fun in the sun with my Molson? I think its about time we write to parliament about a four day workweek. At least for the summer. Come on, whos with me?
8:04 p.m. - 2003-08-06 This week has been the hottest week on record for England since they started keeping records on temperature. It was 38 degrees today. I'm currently sweating like a fat man on a treadmill. Pardon me while I break to fan myself. break. Better now. It's been an exciting time these past days. Lots of travel, very little sleep or rest and a rotten cold/flu that would have put Hercules to bed. But memorable to say the least. I'm currently staying with my brother and pregnant sister in law (who are now cooking dinner, and it smells heavenly). It's been great to see them and to get a peek at Charlotte's swollen belly. I felt Beanie kick today. That's what they're calling the baby - Beaning. Cause it sort of looked like a bean when they first got an ultrasound, and since they know not the sex of the baby, they've chosen to refer to it as a vegetable. It's cute. It's so unfair that they're over here. This will be my only chance to experience the whole thing pre-birth. Next thing I know, Beanie will be here, it will have a new name and I'll be able to hold it. What a trip. But a good trip. Ah...the buzzer just went off. The pasta will be ready soon. I do promise a full report of the events of our trip at some point, but not right now. My fingers are slipping off the keys.
