Little things amuse me
Have you ever had one of those moments where you find a slightly creative solution to a pretty simple problem, but still feel fairly ingenious about the whole thing?

I have.

Last night, there was something in my eye and it was bugging the hell out of me. Upon examination, it appeared that I had a small speck of something stuck to the inside of my eyelid. I could see it, and I could definitely feel it, but I couldn't for the life of me get it out of there. It seemed as if it was embedded in the pinky flesh of my eye socket, and I was getting increasinly annoyed as the night wore on. I tried gently rubbing it, but to no avail. I tried dumping water in my eye, but it was a tricky thing to do properly, and I kept blinking. I even tried ignoring it for a couple of hours, but, alas, that just wasn't going to work for me.

What was eye to do?

I was getting so frustrated that I began to think the only way of getting it out would be to jam something up there, but that didn't seem like the brightest of ideas. Then it hit me. I needed something gentle, small and able to hook onto the little sucker to get it out.

The obvious solution was my hair.

That's right, I pulled a few folicles out of the back of my head, where they wouldn't be missed, created a little hairy hook and grabbed the little piece of....whatever it was right outtathere. Then I thought to myself "Goddamn, I'm good".

Now, I realize that this wasn't exactly a peice of nobel prize winning thought. Anyone could have done it, and there are probably people out there who have done it, but man, I was so proud of myself at that moment. Part of my pride probably stemmed from a certain amount of relief that my eye no longer hurt every time I blinked, but still, I was so SMART last night.
